UTM Builder ("the add-on") is a Google Sheets Editor Add-on that helps marketers create consistent, validated UTM tracking links inside a Google Sheet. This policy explains what the add-on accesses, how it uses it, and what it stores. In short: the add-on works only inside the spreadsheet you have open, and it never sends your data to us or to any third party.
1. What the add-on accesses
- The currently open spreadsheet only. The add-on uses the
spreadsheets.currentonlyscope, which limits it to the single spreadsheet you have open when you run it. It cannot see or open any other file in your Google Drive. - Your email address. The add-on uses the
userinfo.emailscope to record who created each UTM row (the "writer" / "created_by" field), so teams sharing one sheet can see attribution. - Sidebar/UI display. The
script.container.uiscope lets the add-on show its sidebar and dialogs.
2. How the add-on uses it
Inside the open spreadsheet, the add-on reads your channel rules, validates the values you enter, builds UTM links, and writes them to a log tab. Your email is written only into that same spreadsheet (as the row's author). That is the full extent of processing.
3. What is stored, and where
- In your own spreadsheet: the tabs the add-on creates (channel rules, generated-link log, settings, audit log, input grid). This data lives in your Google Sheet, under your Google account, not with us.
- Per-document settings/state: small values such as an "installed" flag and your most recent run summary are stored using Google's per-document Properties and Cache services, scoped to that one spreadsheet. They are not shared across documents or users.
4. What we do NOT do
- We do not transmit your spreadsheet content, links, or email to the developer's servers or any third party.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
- The add-on makes no external network requests with your data. (User-interface fonts are loaded from a public CDN; no user content is sent in doing so.)
5. Data retention and deletion
Because all data stays inside your spreadsheet, you are in control. To remove it: delete the tabs the add-on created, delete the spreadsheet, and/or uninstall the add-on from Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons. Uninstalling stops all access immediately.
6. Google API Services / Limited Use disclosure
UTM Builder's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be reflected in the add-on's store listing.
